The second episode of my music theory video series is on chords construction. In this video, we focus on the four main triad types: major, minor, diminished and augmented as well as what major and minor thirds are. I think the coolest part
of the video is towards the end with diminished and augmented chords.
While you can find major and minor chords in just about every song in any popular style, diminished and augmented chords remain fairly uncommon. I compiled a list of songs from various genres (from rock to country to R&B to pop) that contain these elusive chords, as well as a play-through to give you an idea what these chords sound like in context. Check it out!
If you liked the video, make sure to subscribe for more. Next week's episode will be on diatonic chords.
